Andrew Ledgerton-Lynch OBE
Andrew has over twenty-five years’ experience as an award-winning editor and leader in the fire sector. He is the founder and host of the internationally renowned Excellence in Fire & Emergency Awards and the upcoming Global Search & Rescue Excellence Awards.

He was the co-founder of the International Joint Operations Command Conference and has chaired and hosted conferences and events around the world covering everything from counter-terrorism, fire safety, diversity and inclusion, firefighter safety, decontamination, water safety, search and rescue, to leadership and governance. As a sector thought-leader Andrew has pioneered fire safety campaigns and regularly hosts webinars and podcasts with emergency sector leaders.
As the first non-uniformed Chair of one of the country’s foremost blue light charities – the Fire Fighters Charity – Andrew led the organisation from a deficit to become profitable and sustainable, leading to his appointment as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the first King’s Birthday Honours. The citation read: ‘Your award is richly deserved for your extensive voluntary contribution to the Fire Fighters Charity, establishing a sustainable organisation for the future for firefighters and their families and promoting the cause of firefighter health and wellbeing’.
